Andes Mountains in a Winter day

Today, in a rainy winter day, Lucy went to the East part of our region...she crossed the longest tunnel in Chile "Las Raices Tunnel" (4 kilometers long), she saw young araucarias in their natural environment and a mountain river. She enjoyed this trip very much!

Lucy visited Puren Fortress

Today Lucy visited a little town in our region called Purén. This city is known for being one of the areas strongly defended by Mapuche people. It was so difficult for the spanish soldiers and later for the "chilean government" to establish a village that they first created this fortress, but then in 1869 Mapuche warriors attacked it and killed all chilean soldiers in it...they were more than 100. It was a rainy afternoon but Lucy enjoyed learning a bit about our history.

On the road in winter

On the road, going back to Temuco, under a heavy rain and a gray sky, Lucy saw what is winter like in IX Region in Chile.

...but the rain started again!

On Sunday, it never stop raining so we couldn't work on our garden or go to the beach. Lucy had to see Queule through the windows in our house. She wondered how it looks like in summer...

Lucy went to Queule fishing village

On June 10 we went to Queule where we have our summer house. We hoped to work in our garden and to go sightseeing with Lucy. We arrived there on Saturday evening, it was cloudy but we were able to enjoy a drink on our deck listening to the sea.
